Time to work on some stuff.
More conceptualization. Photography sessions. Exercise? Movies? (don't think that's feasible with what time I normally get up in the "morning")
On another note, the extension of my internship has been confirmed, stretching it all the way till first week of October. While all this is going on, the paper will be divided into two big chunks of people in fear of the spread of swine flu. On one hand, I thought that this was somewhat cool, but then, after carefully thinking about it, it feels rather stupid. I totally felt bummed for the reallocation of some of the gurus from my department to another place. On top of that, the company has made it mandatory for all employees to bring their own thermometers to work so that our body temperature can be checked regularly. Any travel arrangements would also, need to be reported to HR.
Don't you think that it's a little too serious?
Anyway, wash your hands people!

The cost if overwhelming. Seriously. Worst than I've imagined. Maybe this plan is not so feasible afterall. One step at a time! Lets begin with a SUPER portfolio!

Another weekend
Friday was a very productive day. It is not until Friday, did I know that there was this ONE person who truly knows how to guide me into developing myself to be a better designer. For that, again, I'm very thankful for being given this chance to intern here.
Saturday, on the other hand, was a mix of fun and informative day. I had a great time, revisiting photographic skills while enjoying an exhibition, which really, wasn't really worth the money that we had to pay for. Nevertheless, it was a great exhibition that carried great works by a famous costumier, Christian Lacroix. Soon after that, I went for a lecture by Yee. It was in some sense interesting, and very informative. Some of the things that were presented were very interesting and actually got me thinking, while a big bulk of the information consist of things that I have learnt over the years.
Today was spent moderately well, starting with a dim sum sort of thing at Shangri-La, then to the Botanical Gardens. Later in the evening, aunty and I went to look for her gift for her boss along Orchard, and I personally felt that the Swarowski Crystal Ox that she bought was very elegant, and was definitely a good choice. Having gone through that for the whole afternoon, we went to devour very delicious crab noodles. And just a couple of hours ago, I went to watch Madagascar 2 (I know, very outdated, who cares!) and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tomorrow marks the last week of April, and that marks the week where decisions by RISD will be mailed out to applicants. With the dawn drawing closer and closer, I can just hope for the best, and that my wish to further my studies in that institution will come true. *Crossing fingers*
Hoping that it would be smooth sailing for myself, as well as my family members.
p/s: dad, please get well soon.
p/p/s: did I mention that my work's being published in Straits Times? Even though those are less relevant stuff, I am confident that more prominent assignments will come soon. *smiles gleefully*

Hmm...
I guess somethings are better left untold, because frankly speaking... those lines left me speechless. Even tho I'm well aware of the fact that it's not meant to harm, and, really, its one way to show ones appreciation, my inner self forbids me to look at it rationally. Either I am stupid enough to believe in the "give and take", or I am just being a selfish person. Whatever the case may be, I should probably learn how to let go of things.

On the happier note, today marks my one week in Singapore. Everyday has been more or less different. There are some days when I have absolutely nothing to do, some other when I'm made to do the daily stuff, and the most recent of all, yesterday, when I have told to do simple illustrations that would be used for the Saturday papers.
The experience that I've gained so far, have been somewhat rewarding. There are many instances where the artists would offer their help. Sometimes, they would also share their experience and expertise when they have some time to spare. For that, I'm very grateful, and have learnt a whole lot more about things that I would never have thought off, if left alone.

Next week is when RISD would mail out all results for transfer applications. Keeping fingers crossed!

Another boring summary
After that one week
- made to wait 3 hours for the BSB for dinner date. Didn't go to well, did it? LOL
- went for skating. Only fell down once. Hurray!
- Kira was hilarious when he got the wrong apartment. Thinking of it makes me giggle, even right now!
Yesterday
- no lanes for bowling, went for redbox
- ROFL, stomachache when "they" started singing the first song
- Did something rather crazy, and it was awesome!
RIght now
- in Singapore, missing a whole bunch of people *wink*
- thinking that I can do it, and have no choice but to give it my all
- still hoping to get enrolled at RISD (high hopes!) - 2 MORE WEEKS!
To Rahmah, thanks for the post it note, very sweet of you
To Keat Yee, thanks for the message... very sweet of you too
To Fahmy, Myra, Kira, Condo and Yaya, thanks for hanging out yesterday... very sweet and fun!
