understood the mechanics behind Corel Painter.. It's kinda cool :) I'd say that it's a more flexible version of adobe's illustrator and photoshop. But it doesn't have all the functions of both programs

Fighting again

Long story short. My ego is not doing such a great job in balancing the needs of my id and superego. This is definitely not the first time, but at this point, the cat fight's going overboard. I'm torn between the training, and my wishful thinking that I've had since I was a child. All these leads to non-other than my dilemma on which path I should really be taking.

Given the current environment, the level of stress increases. The work, the people, the expectations are all part of this. And I really wonder if I'm making enough right decisions. Am I doing enough to obtain, what's considered a fulfilling life? Shall I shut up. Be an introvert. Be the next beauty queen (not like I have the features). Be the role model of an obedient person et cetera. Seems like nobody really gives a d*mn should I ever become a extreme opposite of the existing me. As a matter of fact, I'm changing every second, while writing this post. So what? No one ever does notice.

Or maybe it's simply an issue of perseverance. Should I manage to maintain that mentality for a little longer, people might start to wonder, or maybe not. In any case, it's apparent that a certain degree of change is expected of me. And that pains me. It's also crystal clear that a stagnant Man Ee is no longer permissible. And I despise that.

As it is, I predict the first change being my ability to trust, taken away from me.

The applications to RISD is also going pretty smoothly. 1st and 2nd choices going all right :) With the 3rd on the way. And the 4th, pretty much set.

I've decided to go with online applications for Risd and AA. I'm still deciding what to apply for ACC. Got a couple of things to send in before the deadline, but that should be fine. Hey, at least I started doing something! Left with some sketches, and prolly some affidavit of support and all. Reminder: letter of intent/personal statement, portfolio (?), transcripts (which I need to, ugh, pay for and have MSU send to them) and, I think that was it.

And I'm seriously thinking of backing out from VCU. Good program, reputation, but too much to do for something that I'm not really keen on doing.

Oh, did I mention that i've settled CMU? That felt good :)

My InDesign CS3 is not working!!!! Now I've got to work on stuff at ComArts :( Fortunately, there's going to be open labs tomorrow... To my dearest cousins, please inform me of any solutions. The error reads "there is a serious error, and InDesign needs to shut down". No problem with the other applications in the suite.

Detroit Auto Show 2008

Had lots of fun taking photos/looking at a variety of different weird cars. And cool sports cars. Did a little bit of shopping before and after the Auto Show. Nike was seriously cheap, but nothing caught my eyes in particular. Managed a couple of tee's in the other mall. Fun times, back and forth, in the car! Overall, an awesome trip :)

Looking forward to more fun stuff. And getting over with others.

Just an experiential black and white picture. An even happier note, I've received CNY cookies/biscuits! It taste yummy!!!! It's sad that I won't be able to eat the fried potatoes because my throat hasn't really recovered yet.

On the dimmer side of things, TOEFL went all right. I'm not sure how I did, but I think that I pretty much nailed it. Let's hope that my intuition is accurate this time :) And yea, the weather is taking over this weekend. It's getting cold, and it snowed pretty heavy yesterday. I was adamant that I'd take a good picture of sceneries with snow, but it just melted before I got to it. I guess that day would eventually come XDDD

Feels weird

Three weeks after, and a new semester begins. True enough, everything has been very rewarding for the past few years. But the "full stop" that awaits me at that corner makes it very difficult for me. All the memories and bonds created seem so light, as if it would disparate along with a gust of wind. Nonetheless, I (hopefully) await for the vast opportunities as I step into another stage of my life. With that, best of luck for you scholars; and to the rest, stay healthy!
