Crazy wednesday

For some reason, I felt like blogging today. Not because I have nothing better to do, but just for the sake of doing what I feel like doing. All right.. my sentences aren't as coherant anymore. I put all the blame to the lack of sleep for the past few days. Been sleeping for 4-5 hours in the wee hours of the day, classes, then back to sleep when it's bright out there.

Let's just keep that bit for some other time; when I really have nothing else to blabber about. So, today was my first day, attending 5 freaking class in a day. Classes in the first half wasn't as bad, thanks to the fact that the lectures and labs were pretty easy.

Things turned for the worst when I was running late for my Studio Art class. Althought I've plan to leave class earlier, I got too excited with the typography assignment. My body felt heavy, and didn't want to move, only because things were getting so interesting in that lab. Finally, when it was 10 minutes to the other class, I rushed out of the COMArts building, running on the side walks, bumped into Ethan, then continued walking. Plus, there was a quiz as soon as I got in there. Freaked me out. NOt like I didn't know that there was going to be one, but I was just too exhausted to even take out my sketchbook.

Hopefully, things will get better soon.

The beginning of a weekend

All right.. I'm officially announcing that my weekend will only start on Thursday evening (as opposed to early Thursday morning) due to the addition of a 2 credit class (an evening class). Other than that, I will probably not have as much free time as I used to due to the addition of this class, along with the 5 other courses (which I refuse to let go) that I'm enrolled in for this semester.

A couple of highlights for the weekend (as of 3:08 p.m., 09/23):

I met up with new Korean friends who were more than willing to teach me Korean foul words, and who was nice enough to invite me to their "parties" - a very funny bunch of people

I go a free lunch from Potbelly's due to whatever reason

The committee members gave me this "I'm so dissapointed face" when I told them that I went for the interview, merely to get some experience, rather than having the interest to take it as a class (as if I needed more credits)

I had 2 dinners consecutively today; once in Holmes (which was pretty good already), then at Hannah plaza with the Hubbard + Fred gang (hilarious conversations)

Saw something super hilarious in Tim and Joe's room whilst waiting for the next bus

Met Jomay in CATA station, freaky... :P

Met Andrew at the Union station... poor fella, having walked from Case to that place under that pouring rain

Met up with Tracy, as planned

3 of us blindly looking for the station to get off

Desmond and Allen monopolied the game.. freaky bunch - Tracy and I decided to announce bankruptcy.. HAHAH.. sadistic

Went home on a ride with Christina, Adam and Brian -with the driver

The rest of the story? Slept around 3 in the morning, then woke up at 2 in the afternoon today. I'll leave the rest of my weekend to your imaginations in the theater of your minds.. LOLz

Last but not least, I present you with my completed projects from the studio art class.

A lot of people told me they liked the one of the Right. On top of that, I got really remarks from my Professor, which really pleases me. Its been a while since I've last done ART, and I'm excited to do more of these.

Decisions... decisions

Currently, I'm enrolled in:
ACC 230 (3)
ADV 322 (3)
ADV 324 (3)
ADV 354 (3)
ADV 492 (2)
STA 113 (3)

There is, however, a possibility that I will drop ADV 322, having found of that it wasn't required for my graduation. Moreover, the general description of that class (that was supposed to be copywritting and art direction ) is different from my interpretation of the course outline (they even changed the course name to JUST copywritting.

I'm sure that most of you are aware that I'm a Art Director/Graphic Designer wannabe. And hence, there's a very big temptation for me to drop this course at the moment. Moreso when there's still full refund, if I drop it by tomorrow.

As of now, I am still thinking of the consequences of dropping this course. On top of that, reflecting on what I really want to do. Do I want to graduate like the others, with all the creative classes, or would I rather take classes that would help me in the direction of becoming an Art Director.

Being a slacker

Been almost a week since I last posted. Perhaps, it's that time of the semester again, when I am just too lazy to write even when lots of things happened this week. Allright, we'll do the summarizing game again. After the BBQ on last friday, I had an intensive week of classes. Was also informed of several interesting information through classes and organizational meetings.

Then, as my weekend approached, a couple of friends (Tim, Fred, Tracy, Karen, Christa and Joe) played sports at the IM. Went to church for their welcoming week. I really liked the the skit :) Tracy won the lucky draw too! Then, to "the place" after that. Played several games there, and got myself a cup of bubble tea.

Did I mention that Elaine and I went to Linda and Andrew's place to give them a surprise earlier, Friday morning? That was a funny one.

Yesterday, Tracy, Elaine, Karen, Tina and I went to Meijers. The main concern was to get materials for making Christa's cake. Got all the ingredients. Shortly after, we (Tracy and I) started our project :) we took several pictures when making them, including Elaine's brownies (she made them for her sister). Of course, we took several bites of the ingredients we used to make the cake too. It turned out pretty well afterall, looks and taste.

Then, Karen, Tracy, and I departed for Peking for HKI's dinner. Was evidently late (but still on time, according to Malaysian time). Oh well, I see that people were still gushing in when we arrived there. Divided into 4 seperate tables, all of us "sandwiched" as we ate dinner. Food was allright. We had familiar faces on our table. As the finale approached, the committee members picked lucky winners to received the weirdest prices ever. Not going to elaborate on that.

After that, people split into several groups. Some decided that they would go to the bowling lanes, while others would get some good rest at home. It is this hour when Adeline joined Helen, Tracy and I to celebrate Christa's birthday. Went to collect the cake from Tracy's then to Christa. We were somewhat early when we reached there, so we ended up chit-chatting. Then, when the time was near, Christa was someone stuck on her phone. We decided that we would do it anyway (closed all the lights, sang her the birthday song -when she was still talking on the phone!). Yea.. and so, that went well.

As we were about to devour the cake (and was hoping that there were some leftovers for us to take home), the Indonesians GUSHED in to Christa's place. Obviously, I met with the people that I haven't met for the longest time ever! People like Diana (a.k.a centil), Suzannah, Vico, Juliani, Adeline, Isabelle, Sabrina etc. Some of which that I've not met before, like mr GOOD (his name is Bagus).

Our poor little cake was only enough for 16 people. And it was fine when the "first-migration" came in. Then, 5 more came in. Then, another 5. Then, another 2. Obviously, we ran out of cakes. So much for left-overs. LOLz. Then, another cake came in. It was a good sign. Then again, lots of people ate the cake we bake, more than the cake they bought. And so, before the other bunch of people came in (the Malaysians, including the other birthday person), our cake was completely devoured. TOO BAD! Oh well. I'm sure they had enough fun drinking earlier :P

More talking, more laughing, more playing, more TICKLING, MORE POKING. As the Indonesian crowd left, the Malaysians, the HongKong-ies, and the 2 hosts continue chit chatting amongst themselves. It was about 2-ish when we decided to leave for home. Stopped by at Brian's to get some medication, then went home.

Dinner + Barbeque => SICK

Ate at Red Lobsters in celebrating Andres's birthday on friday. Lots of people turned up: Andres, Jomay, Roy, Ethan, Karen, Michael, Christine, Furee, Joseph, Michelle, Bernard, Gerard, Allen, Desmond, Helen and I, myself. It was hilarious, how Desmond and Andres would take "weird" pictures of themselves. It was even weirded when Helen and Andres attempted to take a, what they called "twin picture". What's funnier is the conversations that were going on, on our side of the table. The meal was costly (DUH..). Nevertheless, it was a great gathering.

Shortly after, the others went to Andres's apartment and continued doing something. I don't really know. Helen and I, on the other hand decided to take a break, walking back to the dorms, and I went to sleep shortly after.

Then, on Sunday evening, Helen and I, thanks to Christal, went over to Josie's for a barbeque at their new home. That place looks really neat. I really liked the color of their walls too! As this was an event to gather people from church and freshies, there were lots of people. Some of which, that I have not seen since stone age.

For some reason, I got sick the night after the barbeque, experiencing soar throat. Been also coughing for a while now. In addition to that, flu's already on the way. It was really tiring to go to classes yesterday, despite the extra hours I slept on Sunday night. More so today. For the first time, I wasn't too motivated to listen to ADV354's lecture.

Will be meeting up with my professor shortly to get some guidelines for my assignment that's due tomorrow. Yea.. tomorrow... It's so going to be an all nighter ARGH. Will probably come back after that, then go out again for class later this evening. I'm still debating if I should attend the PRSSA GM tonight. I'm exhausted, and know that I could easily get the minutes through e-mail. They won't be doing anything nice tonight anyway. On top of that, I don't feel like waiting for an hour and the half for the meeting when I could have done other stuff. Will see what happens.

At Christa's

Stayed over at Christa's, having arrived East Lansing last night. It was really cute of her, volunteering to sleep on the futon with me, outside, in her living room. Went to bed after chatting for almost 3 full hours at the living room. Talked about various interesting stuf.

It's funny how both of us have the same habit of going back to sleep, having seen the other still asleep when either of us woke up. Our inital plan of waking up at 8:30 a.m. did not happen as a result of that habit, resulting in us, waking up at nearly 2 hours later.

We did our work seperately for a couple of hours, then, went to Meijers to shop for the ingredients for tonight's dinner. Having hunted for all the raw materials for the soon-to-be dinner, we walked back to her apartment, and started cooking dinner LAZILY.

Our not so perfected "slicing" skills cum the not so suitable knife has resulted in a LONG delay. In the end, it took us roughly 3 full hours to cook 3 dishes. Nevertheless, I must say that dinner was pretty good.

All in all, I had a fun long weekend. First, at camp. Then, at Christa's.

To the tip of your fingers

Over [most of] the weekend, I was at the tip of Michigan, residing in camping tents--with Andrew, Linda, Michelle, Mike, Jenny, Jesssica, and Elaine [and Jasmine <-- their dog]--in 3 seperate tents that were set-up before our arrival at Cheboygan.

It was a wonderful experience as I did a lot of "first-time's" in this entire trip. It was my first time to cook "pizza" made of two pieces of bread with other "traditional ingredients like cheese, ham, mushrooms and what not. It was at lso my first time making some dessert, using biscuit dough with various fruits like blueberry, raspberry and strawberry. It was definitely my first time, making smores using actual marshmallow with Hershey chocolate that melted together with it. First time making Hobo Dinner. First time trying Butter Pecan Fudge (I never really liked fudge) etc.

First time playing Bucce Ball. First time stepping my foot on the Upper Peninsular (that place is very scenic, so it was kind of deserted). First time walking on the streets of Mackinac City. First time chopping woods (for real).

If you notice, the first half of my "first-time's" has to do with food. That should give you an idea of how much I consumed over the weekend. In fact, all we did was eat and sleep LOLz. Nevertheless, no regrets. Afterall (quoting Andrew et al) "that's what camping is all about, you eat and you sleep. You just need to relax and enjoy the break."

1. Played badminton with Tim, Brian, and Wei.

3. Went to eat lunch with Roy, Gerard, Desmond, Winnie and Helen
4. Followed them to Eastwood, having collected the rented car for their trip tomorrow (exclude Roy; Desmond drove!)
5. Met with a guy from class; and an ex-TA for ISS at Banana Republic
6. Drank something weird.
7. Did some grocery shopping with the above for dinner.
8. Ate dinner at Gerard's place with the above + Bernard.
9. Ate pasta, wings, garlic bread, brownies, and salmon from the can.
10. Played UNO and Big 2.

Will be camping over the weekend, and spending some time over at Christa's.
